Who is Alexandre Coxo?

Alexandre Coxo is a young Portuguese artist who produces his paintings in two extremes: the natural, in the figurative elements; the artificial, by the logical-mathematical speech. In this way, it seeks to develop images that somehow we already know and, simultaneously, do not know where or when. With his paintings Alexandre intend to create a meditative atmosphere. Between the intimate and the public, he develops an ambiguous imagery that allows him to change between the authoring process and reflexive essay. His work process follows a disciplined method consisting of several sequential steps through which imaging material is found to allow him to compose a limited set of paintings. Usually, this process begins with a trip without destination from which arises the motive and the need to capture images. The work continues in the studio producing his paintings. In the composition and in the painting Alexandre Coxo uses some influences of European art, from the great classics, like Diego Velázquez or Rembrandt, to the contemporary painting. His academic training includes a Master’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, followed by a Degree in Visual Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. After the academic training he attended drawing and painting classes at the Atelier de Arte Realista do Porto. From early on, Alexandre painted and exhibited in Portugal and abroad, having received several prizes in painting contests, and being represented by some galleries.Alexandre Coxo was born in 1987, in the city of Porto, and at the moment lives and work in same cityYou can find out more about the course of Alexandre Coxo on the Biography page.

The contents of the website www.alexandrecoxo.com are divided into Portfolio, + Exclusive, Biography and News. The paintings are inside the Portfolio.

In this section you will find several series of paintings, which are sets of paintings with the same formal and conceptual language, and within each one you will find the paintings that make up each series.

Clicking on the thumbnail image of a painting will be directed to the detail page of the same painting. There you will find the technical file of the good work like other notes. (for example: Atiro CT5)

The purchase option appears in the step referred to in the previous paragraph.

What happens if I buy a painting?

When adding a painting to the cart will be directed to the cart page. There you can proceed to the end of the purchase, where you will be asked for your data and payment.

After making the payment you will receive an automatic confirmation email with the data of the work you have purchased and the indication that the order is awaiting confirmation of payment.

Once the payment is confirmed, you will receive a second manual email with the order validation, invoice, tracking number and estimated transit time for your case. The work of art will be sent to the address indicated on the form.

No, every time you add paintings to the cart you can remove them from the cart page.

Are there advantages to paying online?

Yes, both for your safety and ours.

When you make the payment through the website, you are automatically protected by the bank security services that record the success of the transfer as well as the service provider.

Paypal offers support in case of complaint or dispute, which I can meet on the Paypal website. Ensuring both parties and helping to determine the best resolution.

Alipay offers a service equivalent to Paypal, thus guaranteeing the protection of the buyer. You can find more information on Alipay’s website.

Coinbase and Bank Transfer are protected, however the degree of protection depends on the service contracted by each client individually.

All this adds to the insurance of the carrier, which protects the work during the expedition.

We are committed not to bother you with unwanted advertising or publicity.

I can read more about this in our Privacy Policy page.

Payments

Is paying through the site safe?

Yes, because payments are made through a payment service provider window. That is, for example, if you pay with Paypal the payment is done in a window of Paypal itself, and thus are guaranteed the security requirements that Paypal offers.

This process also happens for Alipay and Bitcoin. The Bank Transfer is the most “manual” process, and the payment is executed directly between your bank and ours.

If the work is returned by a decision to cancel the purchase, without damages and after the communication process described in the previous topics, the buyer is responsible for the costs of return.

If we find that the artist misrepresented the work (whether in the photograph or the description), did not disclose important information about the work, or if the artwork was damaged as a result of poor packaging, the buyer will not be responsible for shipping costs.
