Honourable Mention
Espinho Art Biennial 2019

At the 2019 Espinho Art Biennial, I had the pleasure of receiving an Honourable Mention.
It was with great pleasure and pride that I received the Honourable Mention from Professor Maria José Goulão, who was one of the jury members at this event.
The image shows the painting that received the distinction. It is titled "Tiro - Um Homem Que Consegue Mudar 6" and is an oil painting on linen, 120cm x 120cm x 4cm. I was also lucky enough to see the painting bought by a private collector during the competition exhibition.
This painting belongs to the series "Tiro - Um Homem Que Consegue Mudar", which I developed over the past year and which I accompany with the poem that gives the series its name, written by my friend Daniel Sousa:
"A Man who can change
Alone with his art
To make of it
The solitude of those who see it
Passed on through the knowledge
Of one who can choose
His cause,
Enigmatic,
With sweet prejudices
It shapes vision and the world
It shapes the solitude of those who see
Makes them free and profound
Makes them a Man
A Man who sees everything."
You can see other paintings in this series on the site's Home page. Just click here.
